Temperatures started rising once again after a brief downward trend in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region with Kalaburagi and Bidar recording the State’s highest maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius each, as per the observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 a.m. on Thursday.
However, day temperatures continued to be below normal in most of the Bombay-Karnataka region due to the continued spell of isolated rain. Raichur and Koppal were the two centres in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region where the maximum temperatures were below normal recorded during the season.
While Raichur recorded 38 degrees Celsius maximum temperature, Koppal recorded 37 degrees Celsius maximum temperature.
Vijayapura recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius. Ballari recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius.
While Dharwad recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, Gadag, Bagalkot and Belagavi city recorded a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius each, respectively.
The minimum temperatures also rose sharply in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, with Bidar recording the highest minimum temperature of 27 degrees Celsius.
Sources in the department said that Kalaburagi recorded a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, followed by Raichur and Koppal with 25 degrees Celsius minimum temperature each. Ballari recorded a low minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.
The sources said that Yadgir district experienced good rainfall with Kembhavi recording the State’s highest rainfall of 3 cm, with Vittla in Dakshina Kannada district and Ballupet in Hassan district and B. Durga in Chitradurga district also recording 3 cm rainfall.
Hayyal in Yadgir district and Kudtini in Ballari district recorded 2 cm rainfall and Kawadimatti ARG in Yadgir district recorded 1 cm of rainfall.
