Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan visited the famous Sri Cheluvanarayana Swamy temple at Melkote near Pandavapura on Sunday.

According to sources at the temple, Mr. Narasimhan and his wife visited Melkote to participate in the “Brahmopadesha” programme at Ahobila Mutt. They were accorded a warm reception.

Visiting Sri Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple was Mr. Narasimhan’s long-pending wish and hence he visited Melkote on Sunday to offer pujas, sources added.

The couple also had a “darshan” of Ramanujacharya. Priests offered traditional blessings to them. They also visited the Sanskrit institution at Melkote. Muzrai, revenue and police officials, and members of the temple trust were present on the occasion.

According to the sources, Mr. Narasimhan’s family will stay in Mysuru and visit temples in Srirangapatna on Monday.
