May 25, 2015 07:29 pm | Updated 07:29 pm IST - Bidar:

The strike by teachers of the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences entered the seventh day on Monday. They have stopped teaching, but continue to treat patients.

The teachers complained that of the six government medical colleges in the State, promotions of assistant professors was being delayed only in BIMS.

Other service conditions were dissimilar too, they said. We have written repeatedly to the State government but in vain, they said. They urged the government to promote assistant professors and restore the status of senior resident doctors to permanent tutors.

The strike will continue till the government addresses these issues, said a release by S.V. Ksheerasagar, president and Satish Mudbi, general secretary.
