Teacher’s kidnap: three held

The Bidar police have arrested three persons accused of kidnapping a teacher here.

Those arrested are Anil Kumar Kotlapur, 30, driver of the vehicle, Republican Party of India taluk unit president Anand Timmanayak of Chincholi, and a former member of Inoli Gram Panchayat Lokesh Fatepur, 28.

They have been produced before the magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. The prime accused Vijay Kumar Kumbar, the victim’s husband and president of a pro-Kannada organisation, is still at large.

Using CCTV footage, the police traced the vehicle used for the act. It belonged to Shivaraj Sirigeripet of Tandoor in Telangana.

The victim had escaped from the kidnappers and returned to Bidar in a bus.
