Tanks to be dredged

Bandeppa Kashampur, Minister for Cooperation, said the State government has planned to dredge tanks in future. He was addressing a programme at Katlatkur village in Raichur district after inaugurating the project of dredging a tank on Friday.

The project coordinated by the State government and Bharatiya Jain Sangha.

Mr. Kashampur said that he would discuss extending the project to the entire State with Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy . If tanks were dredged, thousands acres of land would be irrigated helping farming sector, he added.

He said that government has also planned to implement the Israel model of irrigation and intended to increase water storage.

Minister for Social Welfare Priyank Kharge and others were present.
