Talks on bringing back road humps

more-in

There should be talks on whether humps be reintroduced to contain the hazard.

MUDA Commissioner Mahesh told The Hindu that the road had been designed for 80-km speed limit. Experts say that humps are unscientific and suggested alternatives for controlling the speed of vehicles.

Therefore, after some accidents, the MUDA, in consultation with the Mysuru city police, put up collapsible barricades on some stretches of the road to check the speed. The barricades had also been pasted with reflector stickers for visibility during night.

“I don’t think we can put up humps on ORR as the purpose of motorway will not be served. Anyway, we will talk to the police on what best can be done,” he replied.
