Supplementary estimates tabled

Supplementary estimates (first instalment) of Rs. 3,946.03 crore were tabled in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.

The estimates, tabled by Law and Parliamentary Minister T.B. Jayachandra on behalf of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the Finance portfolio, relate to advances sanctioned from the Contingency Fund after the State Budget estimates for 2015–16 were placed in both the Houses of the legislature in March 2015.

They also account for additional/supplementary grants/appropriation required during the present year besides accounting adjustments.

The total sum included in The supplementary estimates include an additional allocation of Rs. 402.58 crore being made to the departments of Agriculture and Horticulture, Rs. 379 crore for the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Rs. 204 crore for the Revenue Department, Rs. 559.93 crore for the Public Works Department and about Rs. 190 crore each for the departments of Commerce and Industries, and Energy.
