Sub-inspectors to get six-month training

June 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - KALABURAGI:

Commissioner of the Excise Department S.B. Umashankar on Monday inaugurated a six-month training for 180 excise sub-inspectors — including 58 women sub-inspectors — at the Police Training College in Naganahalli on the outskirts of Kalaburagi city.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Umashankar said this was the second batch of sub-inspectors to be undergoing four-month physical training and two-month theory session in updating knowledge in special laws, excise and police Acts, excise manual, IPC and other Acts for the effective discharge of their duties.

He said that after the six-month training at the Police Training College, the excise sub-inspectors would have to undergo another six-month field training.

“We have chosen the Police Training College to provide basic training to the excise sub-inspectors,” he said.
