Students from Thrissur shine in shooting event

Girls from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Thrissur, Kerala, won the first and second prize at the National Shooting Championship for Under -17 Girls from Central Schools organised by Kendriya Vidyalaya in Belagavi on Saturday. The 10 m open sight air rifle competition was held in the shooting range of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre here.

Angel Rose stood first and Aleena Anto got the second prize. K. Priyadarshini from Coimbatore got the third prize. Sujal Sankhala from Belagavi KV-2 won the first prize in the 10 m peep sight air rifle event for Under-17 Girls. Priyanka Janwal of Delhi Cantt. stood second, and Sonu Ray of Kolkotta Salt Lake won the third prize.

Varidhi Gore of CME, Pune, won the first prize in 10 m pistol shooting and Lavanya Singh from Gurugram and Sai Sambhrama from Malleshwaram KV won the second and third prize respectively. In the 10 m open sight air rifle event for Under-19 Girls, Preetender Kaur from Patiala won the first prize. Subhetchav from Coimbatore stood second and Vani Chandrika from Dhamtari won the third prize.

In the 10 m peep sight air rifle event for Under-19 Girls, Chandrima Nain from Chandigarh won the first prize, Arshdeep Kaur from Fatehgarh came second, and Prema Lakkappa from Belagavi KV-2 came third.

Sakshi Mallik of AFS Delhi won the first prize in the 10 m pistol event. A.S. Shalini from Anna Nagar came second, and Akanksha Mishra from Sikhar secured the third prize.
