Students of the JSS School of Nursing observed World Mental Health Day on Saturday and conducted street plays to create public awareness on the issue.

The focus was on identifying symptoms of mental health, prevention of its onset and possible cures to address them.

The street plays were conducted in front of the Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple adjacent to the Mysuru palace and at Agrahara to reach out to a larger number of people.

Palliative care

An awareness rally by more than 400 students of various nursing schools was also held to mark World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

It was organised by the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement in collaboration with other institutions and flagged off by B. Krishnamurthy, dean, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute. The participants marched through the main thoroughfares of the city.
