Stray dogs kill 23 sheep

Sources at the animal husbandry said that a pack of stray dogs attacked sheep at a pen of farmer Suresh Pathegowda. The dogs killed 23 sheep when Mr. Pathegowda was sleeping in his house, after leaving sheep in the pen.

Nagamangala tahsildar M. Shivalinga Murthy and assistant director of animal husbandry, A. Parameshwarappa, visited the village on Friday to assess the loss.

According to the sources at the department of animal husbandry, Mr. Pathegowda has incurred a loss of around Rs. 1.30 lakh due to the attack.
