A stray dog bit 12 persons, including two children, in the old city in Bidar on Sunday. The dog bit passers by in Kasab Galli.
The victims were treated at the district hospital. City municipal council member and Kasab community leader Nabi Qureshi criticised the CMC for failing to end the dog menace. “Garbage clearance and ending stray dog menace are two basic responsibilities of the CMC. But the CMC has failed to carry out even these basic duties,” he said.
CMC president Fatima Ali said the CMC would start a stray dog identification and population control project. “We already have a programme in place. We will strengthen it,” she said.
