Stone-pelting: six arrested

Six persons have been arrested on Sunday on the charge of throwing stones at police officials in Kallur (K) village in Jewargi taluk. The police resorted to lathi charge to restrain the groups that pelted stones at each other on Saturday night. The police said the clash occurred between two group of residents of Kallur (K) who were campaigning for different parties for gram panchayat polls. Bhutale Dhavji, Ramesh Dhavji, Shrishail Dhavji, Srikant Dhavji, Babu Jesunagi and Shivakumar Dhavji have been arrested. A case is registered at Nelogi police station.
