M. Chandrappa, MLA, has said that ₹10 crore would be spent on upgrading State highway 47 between Hosadurga and Holalkere taluks in the district.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for road works of the highway here on Monday, he said the highway between Hosadurga and Holalkere was developed in 2008 during his tenure as MLA at a cost of ₹43 crores. Since then, no steps had been taken to maintain the road. The potholes are causing severe inconvenience to people, he said. In the last five years, the roads were completely neglected by elected representatives, he alleged.

Steps will be taken to develop Bommankatte village road at ₹75 lakh as it connects the highway with other villages. There are plans to develop concrete roads at all villages in the taluk. A proposal to build a ₹350 crore drinking water project has been sent to State government. Once approved, it will supply drinking water to all villages from Sulikere tank.
