State govt. urged to provide property rights to farmers

The members of district unit of Karnataka Adivasi Vakkuta and Zilla Aranya Hakku Samithi Vakkuta took out a procession and staged a dharna outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office here recently urging the State government to provide property rights to bagair hukum farmers in the district.

The agitators took out a procession from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle. They also raised slogans against the State government for its failure to take steps in this regard. The agitators said that district in-charge Minister H. Anjaneya and the authorities concerned at the State level had instructed the officers concerned to distribute property rights to bagair hukum farmers in the district as early as possible. However, the authorities had not taken any steps in this regard.

The agitators demanded that the authorities concerned should immediately announce the date on which they will start distributing the property rights to these farmers.
