The police in Raichur have arrested Narasimha Murthy, general secretary of Swaraj India in Karnataka and secretary of Gauri Media Trust, in connection with four cases, some of which are more than two decades old.
In a release, C.B. Vedamurthy, Superintendent of Police, said he had been booked in four cases under various sections of Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act, the Explosives Act and the Explosive Substances Act. The police arrested him when he was in the city to take part in a private programme. On Friday, the police produced him before a court, which remanded him in judicial custody till November 6.
