Karnataka Janata Paksha president and the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has said that a clear picture on his re-entry to the Bharatiya Janata Party will emerge in a week.
“Leaders of the BJP State unit are eager to bring me back into the party fold. All my followers also want me to re-join the BJP. Talks in this regard are under progress and a decision will be taken shortly,” he told presspersons here on Tuesday.
Mr. Yeddyurappa alleged that development works in the State had come to a standstill after Congress come to power.
The Congress government had failed on all fronts, he alleged. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had not released funds to repair arterial roads across the State that were damaged following heavy rain during the monsoon, he charged.
Industrial infrastructure was in a poor state owing to which entrepreneurs were reluctant to invest in Karnataka, he claimed. The State government had turned blind eye to problems being faced by farmers, he alleged.
On the closure of rice mills across the State in protest against the target fixed by the government to collect levy rice, he demanded that the government address the problem at the earliest. Any delay in resolving the issue may lead to a fall in the paddy price and shortage of rice, he said.
To a query, Mr. Yeddyurappa said he had not taken any decision on contesting the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
