Spiritual and cultural festival in Hubballi from tomorrow

As part of the Navaratri celebrations, the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashram will organise a 12-day spiritual and cultural festival ‘Sharannavaratri Utsav-2015’ on Rangamandir premises in Kalyan Nagar here from Monday.

A release by ashram president Swami Raghuveerananda said that the utsav would provide the public an opportunity to attend spiritual programmes and talks conducted by the senior monks of the Ramakrishna order and also cultural programmes in the evening on all days.

The idol of Goddess Durga made by artistes from West Bengal would be taken into procession from Maratha Galli to Kalyan Nagar on Monday.

The idol installation ceremony will be held on Tuesday. In the evening, Mangaluru Ramakrishna Ashram president Swami Jitakamananda will inaugurate the cultural programmes.

Yaksha Nrutya, a musical dance of the Lambani tribe; Panchaveera an instrumental concert, a play on the life and works of Swami Vivekananda and others would be presented.

The programmes are open for all.
