Six men gang-rape woman at Sathanur

A six-member gang allegedly raped and severely beat up a 30-year-old woman at Sathanur, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, on Saturday night.

The victim has alleged that she was picked by a three-member gang from the southern part of the city around 10 p.m. It is said that the victim knew one of the accused. The four reached Dodda Alahalli at 11 p.m.

Phone call

After reaching the village, the trio made a call on a mobile phone and summoned three others to the spot. Later, they forcibly took the woman to a secluded place at Muthurayana Pura forest area and allegedly raped her, police sources said.

Assault

The gang assaulted the woman, brought her back to Dodda Alahalli and dumped her at the auto rickshaw stand at 3 a.m. before fleeing in their vehicle.

However, an autorickshaw driver noticed the injured woman and informed the police.

According to the police, of the accused, three are natives of Bengaluru and the others might be from the nearby areas of Kanakpura.

The woman reportedly told the police that she was unemployed and was looking for a job.

She was treated at a local hospital.

Special team

The movement of the vehicle was recorded in a CCTV camera that was installed by a local gram panchayat.

The police have already gathered vital clues about the suspects, a senior police officer at Sathanur told The Hindu .

The Ramanagaram district police have formed special teams to nab the gang members.
