Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Kagodu Thimmappa has described the performance of Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister during the last two years as satisfactory.

The State government launched a slew of schemes for the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden. Mr. Siddaramaiah should focus on proper implementation of these schemes and the programmes announced in the budget, he said at a press conference at Sagar on Wednesday.

The achievement of State government in education, agriculture and irrigation sectors was impressive. It is heartening to note that the government allocated adequate funds for establishing new schools and hostels in rural areas.

The government should address the lapses in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

The process of conferring land ownership rights on farmers, who had submitted applications under the Forest Rights Act should be completed expeditiously, he said.

‘There is a need to address lapses in implementation
