Siddalinga Swamy, honorary president of Sri Ram Sene and head of Karuneshwar Mutt, Andola in Jewargi taluk, Kalaburagi district, who was arrested on Monday on the charge of assaulting a person, was on Saturday granted bail by a District and Sessions Court in Kalaburagi.

The III Additional and Sessions Judge, B.S. Naik, granted conditional bail to the swamiji. Though the swamiji was avoiding arrest, the police picked him from his mutt on Monday night and produced him before the local Magistrate, who remanded the accused in judicial custody for 10 days on the charge of assaulting members of a family belonging to a minority community and demolishing a hotel at Andola village.
