Shiroor seer case: Police confiscate many items from mutt premises

The police investigation into the death of Lakshmivara Tirtha Swami of Shiroor Mutt continued on Tuesday with the police questioning several persons and confiscating many items from the mutt premises.

Sources in the Police Department said of the two digital video recorders of the CCTV cameras installed at the ‘moola mutt’ at Shiroor village, the police had one in their possession, while they were searching for another one. The police had also questioned several persons, including a woman, in relation to the case. However, no arrests had been made.

However, Arun Chakravarthy, IGP (Western Range), told reporters here on Tuesday that the police were in the process of getting some leads in the case.

Mr. Chakravarthy also held a meeting at the District Police Office with the Superintendent of Police and other officers. He visited the ‘moola mutt’ and also the Shiroor Mutt here.
