Shiradi Ghat will remain closed for a few more days as landslips have continued in the area.
A previous order by the Assistant Commissioner of Sakleshpur sub-division said that the road was to be opened for light motor vehicles on Monday morning.
G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, Assistant Commissioner, told The Hindu on Sunday that the order will be revised considering the landslips. “The road will remain closed until further roads,” he said. The district administration had decided to stop all vehicles on the stretch till August 20 and heavy vehicles up to August 25. As the situation remains critical, the administration will not allow vehicles for a few more days.
