The Sharana Samskruthi Utsav 2019, popularly known as Dasara Mahotsava of Central Karnataka, would be held for 10 days from October 13 on the Bruhan Mutt premises here.

Speaking at a preparatory meeting here on Sunday, Sri Shivamurthy Muruga Sharana said that Sri Purushottamanandpuri Swamiji of Bhagiratha Gurupeet would be the honorary president of the utsav committee and Shivakumar Patel of Siddapur would be the working president. The district in-charge Minister, MLAs, MLCs, Congress leader Hanumali Shanmukhappa and Janata Dal(S) leader K.C. Veerendra would be the presidents of the different committees to look after the preparations for the utsav. Since decades, the Burhan Mutt has been working to solve the problems of farmers. The organisers would also organise a Krishi Utsav to introduce the latest technologies to farmers in the region and also conduct special lectures on the use of the latest technologies in the fields, he added.

Sri Purushottamanandpuri Swamiji of Bhagiratha Gurupeeta said that the Sharana Samskruthi would throw light on irrigation projects, education and various development aspects of the Central Karnataka region and also on women empowerment. “The programmes would he chalked out by conducting thorough discussions with experts in different fields,” he added.

Seers of different mutts in the region, BJP district president K.S. Naveen, advocate C.M. Veeranna and K.M. Veeresh were present.
