Employees federation submits memorandum to V.S. Patil

The All Karnataka State Road Transport Employees Federation has urged new chairman of North West Karnataka Road Corporation (NWKRTC) V.S. Patil to make efforts to get one-time special grant for the corporation, which was under loss.

The federation has urged Mr. Patil to make efforts to get at least ₹ 500 crore as a one-time grant from the State government.

Led by president of the federation K.S. Sharma, the office-bearers met Mr. Patil and submitted a memorandum in this regard and said that special grants would help the corporation in paying the pending dues towards various benefits of the corporation employees.

Mr. Sharma said that NWKRTC was exempted from paying the Motor Vehicle Tax earlier but now as the exemption had ended, efforts should be made to get the exemption restored in the interest of the financial health of the corporation.

The federation members said that th State government should fully compensate the corporation’s revenue loss incurred due to various concessions extended to students, senior citizens, those with physical disabilities and others.

Federation office-bearers V.B. Kulkarni, M.V. Kalabhavi, S.B. Narendra, Ashok Betageri, M.V. Kalaghatagi and others urged the chairman to take up the issues concerning the corporation with Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and get them redressed at the earliest.
