Second overbridge sought

January 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - Udupi:

The Udupi Railway Yatri Sangha has demanded the construction of a second railway overbridge bridge near the existing railway overbridge at Indrali here, saying that the road connecting the bridge (from both sides) had been converted into a four-lane one.

The single bridge posed a danger on the four-lane road. The officials of both National Highways Department and the Konkan Railway should sort out the matter, the release added.

The sangha had met the Executive Engineer of the National Highways Department in Mangaluru and urged him to expedite the proposal for the construction of a second overbridge.

But the department has been blaming the Konkan Railway and the Konkan Railway has been blaming the department, he said.
