‘Run for Kannada’ marathon evokes good response


The ‘Run for Kannada’, a 10K marathon, evoked good response with hundreds of people participating on Sunday.

Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, the former Minister M.S. Athmananda and others flagged off the marathon on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.

The participants ran for 5 km till Hosa Budhanur on the highway, took a u-turn at the village and culminated at the starting point. Students, government employees, members of various organisations and women participated in the run. “It was a great experience to run for Kannada,” Mahesh, a resident of Guthalu, said. The event was jointly organised by the Kayaka Yogi Pratishtana, the Mandya Zilla Panchayat and NGOs of the district.
