Thanmaya Bekkalale, an IT professional, who runs his own start-up – School of Fish Technologies in Bengaluru – is one of the six charity riders participating in Tour of Nilgiris (TfN) 2018.

Thanmaya manages to juggle between his profession and activities of Iksha Foundation, an NGO he founded to support the treatment of children with retinoblastoma or eye cancer. He has already pedalled TfN twice and was volunteer on two tours.

He is pedalling as a charity rider for Iksha Foundation and aims to raise a corpus of ₹10 lakh, which will aid the treatment of 6 to 7 children with retinoblastoma. “When you ride for a purpose, the pain and sweat is more meaningful,” he said.
