Describing the Union Budget as “result oriented” with impetus on life and economy of rural masses, BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa has maintained that all the initiatives listed were people and poor oriented.

“Gaon (village), Gharib (poor), Kisan (farmer)... the theme of the budget itself indicates that NDA is serious about developing the economy and life of common man,” he said in a release on Friday.

The most striking feature of the budget was that it has decided to take up various structural and financial changes in Indian economy to boost infrastructure, investment and other facilities without burdening the people, he said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers D.V. Sadananda Gowda described the budget as one which has maintained fiscal discipline.

BJP State general secretary C.T. Ravi said the budget had focussed on air, road and water connectivity in detail.

‘One nation, one grid’

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has included the suggestion by veteran BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna of putting in place a concept of ‘One nation - one grid’ in the budget.
