Residents oppose work on mobile tower

May 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - HUBBALLI:

Residents of Indraprastha Nagar here staged a protest on Wednesday taking exception to the resumption of work on a mobile tower .

The protesters, mainly women and youngsters, complained that they had opposed the work from 2013 itself.

They said that for the last few days, the work on the station was being taken up and there were none to answer their queries.

The protesters said that apart from being a residential area, there were schools, colleges and anganwadis in the locality and allowing construction of a mobile base station would be against a government order.

They urged the police to conduct spot inspection and take steps to stop the work.
