Reservation for GP posts announced

Exercise conducted in a transparent manner across districts

The reservation for the full term of president and vice-president of 41 gram panchayats in Kalaburagi taluk have been finalised and published. The process was taken up by the Deputy Commissioner Vipul Bansal, who is also the district election officer.

The exercise was done in the presence of elected members of the gram panchayats amid tight security in a transparent manner and as per the regulations of the Election Commission.

The process in Aland and Afsalpur has been completed. In Chincholi and in Sedam it will be on June 15, and in Chitapur and Jewargi on June 16.

In Yadgir, the district administration, on Friday, announced the reservation for president and vice-president posts for 40 gram panchayats in Yadgir taluk.

According to a release, 10 seats for the post of president are reserved for General and General (Women) followed by 7 each seats for Schedule Caste and Schedule Caste (Women), 2 each for Schedule Tribe and Schedule Tribe (Women) and one each for Other Backward Classes A and Other Backward Classes A (Women).

For the post of vice-president, 10 each seats are reserved for General and General (Women), followed by 7 each seats for Schedule Caste and Schedule Caste (Women), 2 each seats for Schedule Tribe and Schedule Tribe (Women) and one each seat for Other Backward Classes A and Other Backward Classes A (Women) respectively.

Reservations to the posts of president and vice-president for 174 gram panchayats (GP) in Raichur district have been announced. Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer S. Sasikanth Senthil, Additional Deputy Commissioner Umesh, Assistant Commissioner M.P. Maruthi and other senior officials have completed the GP-wise reservation distribution process in Deodurg and Lingasugur on Thursday and Manvi and Sindhanur taluks on Friday. As per the details provided by the district administration, of the 38 gram panchayats in Manvi taluk, 8 president posts were reserved for General, 7 for General (Woman), 5 for Scheduled Caste, 5 for Scheduled Caste (Woman), 6 for Scheduled Tribe and the remaining 7 for Scheduled Tribe (Woman).

In Sindhanur taluk, of 36 gram panchayats, 10 posts were reserved for General, 8 for General (Woman), 4 for Scheduled Caste, 6 for Scheduled Caste (Woman), 3 for Scheduled Tribe, 4 for Scheduled Tribe (Woman) and 1 each for Other Backward Classes A and Other Backward Classes A (Woman).

In Lingasugur taluk, of 39 gram panchayats, 9 posts were reserved for (General), 9 for General (Woman), 5 for Scheduled Caste, 6 for Scheduled Caste (Woman), 5 for Scheduled Tribe and 5 for Scheduled Tribe (Woman).

In Deodurg taluk, of 33 gram panchayats, 5 posts were reserved for General, 5 for General (Woman), 4 for Scheduled Caste, 5 for Scheduled Caste (Woman), 7 for Scheduled Tribe and 7 for Scheduled Tribe (Woman).

In Raichur taluk, of 34 gram panchayats, 9 posts were reserved for General, 7 for General (Woman), 4 for Scheduled Caste, 5 for Scheduled Caste (Woman), 4 for Scheduled Tribe and 5 for Scheduled Tribe (Woman).
