The House committee looking into power purchases in the State between 2006 and 2013 held its last meeting on Monday, before the report is tabled in the winter session in Belagavi. Members have been invited to attest their signature to the report on November 7.

“We have gathered the opinion of all members and the report is ready,” committee chairman and Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar told presspersons. The last meeting of the committee had only two members, including Mr. Shivakumar. He said that former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy and Health Minister K.R. Ramesh Kumar did not attend owing to health issues, while former Minister Basavaraj Bommai was travelling.

Meanwhile, when asked about the absence of BJP members, BJP spokesperson and MLA Suresh Kumar said they had questioned the propriety of Mr. Shivakumar heading the committee. “But our members have already given their opinion to the committee,” he said.
