The government will also take up the Chidananda Gowda report on Kannada computing for implementation

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that two reports related to Kannada language and governance — Sarojini Mahishi report on employment reservation to Kannadigas and Chidananda Gowda report on Kannada computing — would be implemented by the government with necessary modifications.

The Chief Minister (during the Rajyotsava celebrations here on Friday) said that Jnanpith Award-winner Chandrashekhar Kambar had repeatedly underlined the need for implementing the report by Kannada Software Development Committee (KSDC) headed by Dr. Chidananda Gowda and it would be done soon.

The committee set up in 2008 was assigned the task of making recommendations on standardisation of Kannada software. The committee had made 14 recommendations and 13 suggestions on it.

On the Mahishi report, he said that the report submitted in 1986 needed some changes in keeping with the changed economic and social circumstances. The Kannada Development Authority had suggested modifications to the recommendations, which would be placed before an expert committee, before being implemented, he said.
