Man sentenced to 10 years in jail for rape

M. Mahadevaiah, Additional District and Sessions Court Judge of Raichur, has sentenced Narasimhalu to 10 years imprisonment after finding him guilty of raping a minor girl. The judge also imposed a fine of Rs. 25,000 on the convict. According to the charge-sheet, the accused raped the minor girl in 2015 and a case was registered under PoCSO Act.

Sentenced

Sadanand N. Nayak, District Principal and Sessions Judge of Yadgir, has sentenced Sabanna Bhimashappa Rampur of Hosalli in Yadgir taluk to seven years imprisonment after finding him guilty of abetting the suicide of his wife, Indiramma.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs. 34,000 on the accused. The victim committed suicide in 2015 unable to bear the mental and physical harassment being meted out to her by the accused over domestic reasons ever since their marriage.

Yadgir Rural Police, who registered the case, submitted the charge-sheet.
