R. Chetan took over as the new Superintendent of Police of Ballari district on Friday.
Chetan Singh Rathore, who has been transferred to Raichur, handed over the charge to the new incumbent. This is the second posting for Mr. Chetan, who is a native of Tumkur district.
Prior to being posted here, he served as Superintendent of Police in Chikkamagalur district for a period of 16 months.
Priority
Apart from according priority to maintain law and order, Mr. Chetan said that he would lay more stress on the prevention of atrocities against women, children, Dalits and the oppressed.
