Prof. P. Nagaraj passes away

P. Nagaraj, professor, Department of Studies in Chemistry, University of Mysore, passed away here on Sunday. He was 55. He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.

Family sources said he died of cardiac arrest at a private hospital around 5.30 p.m.

His colleagues, relatives, well-wishers and students visited his residence at Vagdevi Nagar here on Sunday and Monday to pay respects. The last rites were performed on Monday afternoon.

A recipient of the Sir C.V. Raman Scientist Award and the Prof. Sanke Gowda Research Award, Prof. Nagaraj guided many of his students to complete their doctoral studies.
