Preparations on for elections

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Yadgir district Manoj Jain has said that all preparations to conduct free, fair and proper elections for 121 gram panchayats in the district are on. Addressing a joint press conference along with Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat P. Sunil Kumar and Superintendent of Police Vinayak Patil here recently, Mr. Jain said that as many as 883 polling stations for 121 gram panchayats have been setup.

Of them, 182 are hypersensitive, 271 are sensitive and 430 are normal.

There are 6, 67,347 voters in the district. Of them, 3,36,303 are men, while, 3,31,044 are women voters. Superintendent of Police Vinayak Patil has said that police department has taken all precaution to provide elaborate security for the election. He said that four Deputy Superintendents of Police, 11 Circle Inspectors, 63 Sub Inspectors and Assistant Sub Inspectors, 157 Head Constables, 859 Constables and 300 Home Guards would be deployed. .

Mr. Patil said that out of 1,462 licensed arms, 1,104 were deposited with the police so far and action will be taken to ensure that the remaining licensed arms are deposited.
