Election to the 230 gram panchayats in the district will be held on May 29. The district administration will make all arrangements for the elections, said Mandya Deputy Commissioner M.N. Ajay Nagabhushan on Monday.
The district has 234 gram panchayats. Of them 230 have completed their term. The district administration will set up 1,694 polling booths, he said.
Last date to file nomination papers is May 18 and last date for withdrawal is May 21. Counting of votes will take place on June 5.
The Police Department will make security arrangements for smooth conduct of elections.
