Abdul Rashid Ansari, president of BJP’s National Minority Morcha, while training his guns at the Congress for ignoring the welfare of minorities, exhorted the members to create awareness among the people about the various welfare schemes announced by the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Special Executive Committee meeting of the State unit of the BJP Minority Morcha here on Wednesday.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a man of vision. Realising that education is important for all, particularly to those in minority community, he has come out with various welfare schemes for the minorities to get education, economic progress and employment. Now it is the duty of the party leaders and other members to popularise these schemes so that the minorities could take full advantage of them and improve their standard of living,” he said.
Mr. Rashid criticised the erstwhile Congress-led UPA government for not being bothered about the welfare of the people.
B. Sriramulu, MP, underlined the need for unity among the Hindus and Muslims for the country to progress in all spheres and emerge as a leader internationally. “If army is the strength of United States, and manufacturing for China, both the Hindus and Muslims are the strength of India and should unite for the country to make progress and develop instead of remaining as vote banks,” he said. He also appealed to the minorities to extend support for protection of cows by giving up consumption of beef.
