As news of V.G. Siddhartha disappearing near Mangaluru broke on Tuesday, the residence of BJP leader and former Union Minister S.M. Krishna, father-in-law of the entrepreneur, at Sadashivnagar here saw an endless stream of visitors.

Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa rushed to Mr. Krishna’s residence and promised all possible help on a war footing by the government. Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and former Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah, H.D. Kumaraswamy and Veerappa Moily also visited and tried to console Mr. Krishna.

Senior Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar, a former close aide of Mr. Krishna, was one of the first the reach the house. Later, speaking to the media, he said he had received a call from Mr. Siddhartha on Sunday seeking a meeting with him.

The entire family of Mr. Siddhartha — his wife, two children and parents-in-law — was holed up in the house through the day as many of their relatives also visited. However, the family members did not come out and speak to the media.
