In order to prevent incidents such as altercations between traffic police personnel and motorists during inspections of traffic violations, the Mandya district police have decided to use body-worn cameras.
The department has already procured 40 cameras, K. Parashuram, Superintendent of Police, tod presspersons. Sub-inspectors (both traffic and law-and-order stations) and assistant sub-inspectors of traffic police stations will use them. The department will procure 20 more cameras, he added.
