Police procure body cameras

In order to prevent incidents such as altercations between traffic police personnel and motorists during inspections of traffic violations, the Mandya district police have decided to use body-worn cameras.

The department has already procured 40 cameras, K. Parashuram, Superintendent of Police, tod presspersons. Sub-inspectors (both traffic and law-and-order stations) and assistant sub-inspectors of traffic police stations will use them. The department will procure 20 more cameras, he added. Additional Superintendent of Police Shobharani was present.
