Police nab inter-state car thief, recover four cars stolen from Kerala and TN

The City police have nabbed a 28-year-old inter-state car thief and recovered four cars valued at Rs. 39.5 lakh.

Police said they first detained Shafeed, the accused, on suspicion on Sunday night when he failed to produce the documents of the vehicle he was driving in Vijaynagar fourth stage.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had stolen the car from Kerala.

A case was registered against him and he was subjected to further questioning. During the sustained interrogation, Shafeed, a resident of Talacherri in Kerala, confessed that he had stolen three more cars from different places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and sold them in Mysuru.

Based on the information provided by him, the police have recovered a total of four cars valued at Rs. 39.5 lakh.
