Pankaj Modi, brother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, visited the legendary Anjanadri Hill near Gangavati in Koppal district, which is believed to be the birth place of Hanuman, on Saturday.

Mr. Pankaj Modi told presspersons that it was a private visit and that his plans to visit the holy place earlier had not materialised but he could make it this time during the month of ‘Adhika Masa’. Mr. Pankaj is the second person from Mr. Narendra Modi’s family to visit Anjanadri Hill. A few months back, Ms. Jashoda Ben, wife of Mr. Narendra Modi, had visited the place.

Mr. Pankaj, Deputy Director of the Gujarat State Information Department, also visited the sacred Pampa Sarovar, Shabari cave, ‘Ram paduka’ and Lakshmi temple.

He also visited the palace at Anegundi, the cradle of Vijayanagar empire.

From there, he left for Bengaluru.
