President of Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Vasant Ladawa has requested citizens to cooperate in providing accurate data for the National Sample Survey (NSS).

He was inaugurating the Regional Training Conference for the 73rd Round NSS, organised by the National Sample Survey Office (Field Operations Division), here on Tuesday.

Mr. Ladawa said the sample survey was crucial for the development of the industry and the overall development of the country. Furnishing accurate data by the citizens would help the policy-makers in coming out with better national policies, he said.

In the 73rd Round of NSS, it is decided to carry out an all-India enterprise survey on economic and operational characteristics of “Unincorporated non-agricultural enterprises in manufacturing, trade and other service sector (excluding construction)”. This survey will be conducted from July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2016.

Ahmad Ayub, observer for the conference and Deputy Director General, Kolkata, briefed about the subject of the survey and its importance. Assistant Director Shivaji Patil welcomed the gathering while another official H.L. Lamani proposed a vote of thanks.

The field functionaries stationed at Sub-Regional Offices at Belagavi, Ballari, Kalaburagi and others took part in the conference.
