A pavement near the State Bank of India on the Railway Station Road has been blocked for pedestrians in Yadgir.

The pavement has been “occupied by putting up a barricade sort of a structure”. It is also covering at least three feet space on the main road.

When the issue was brought to the notice of the civic authorities, Ramesh Sunagar, Commissioner of the Yadgir City Municipal Council, told The Hindu that he would visit the spot on Monday for an inspection and take steps to immediately clear the encroachment.

Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonawane said that the police will extend cooperation to the civic authorities in clearing such encroachments and make the city beautiful.
