After medical treatment for his multiple ailments at the multi-specialty hospital here, Bangalore serial blast accused and People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasser Maudany was shifted to Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital here on Tuesday, from the central prison.

Maudany’s counsel P. Usman told The Hindu that Maudany was shifted based on Supreme Court directions. Maudany, who has multiple ailments, including diabetes, had approached the Supreme Court for bail citing eye surgery. Though he was denied bail, the court directed the State to provide Maudany the required treatment. However, a senior officer of the Prison Department said, “We are providing treatment to Maudany based on the court’s direction, but I am not sure whether he was shifted to hospital.”
