Kannada film producer Parvathamma Rajkumar, who has been in hospital for a week now, is responding to treatment and showing signs of improvement. However, she continues to be on assisted ventilation.

Ms. Parvathamma, wife of the late thespian Rajkumar, was admitted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital on May 14 with weakness.

She developed breathing difficulties and was put on ventilator on Thursday.

Her renal parameters had deranged on Thursday and she was put on dialysis.

On Friday, hospital president Naresh Shetty said her condition was better and she was more alert and conscious.

“All her vital parameters are satisfactory and she continues to respond to oral commands. Her creatinine level has also reduced. However, she is still on life support system and not completely out of danger. We are hoping she will do better in the next 24 hours,” he said. She is being closely monitored by a team of doctors.
