Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice-Chancellor M.G. Krishnan on Wednesday claimed that the renewal of recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) was expected any moment.

“Based on the information I have received from a reliable source in New Delhi, the KSOU is expected to get back its recognition as an order in this regard is likely to be issued any time in the next couple of days,” he told The Hindu .

To a question on whether the renewal would be retrospective, he said, “I think it (renewal) is likely to be for the year 2015-16.” On the admissions for 2015-16, he said the KSOU was fully prepared to commence admissions subject to an order from the UGC on renewal of its recognition.
