A meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner K.V. Thrilokchandra to review the progress of works under Karnataka Legislators’ Local Area Development Scheme (KSLLADS) evoked lacklustre response from the people’s representatives with only two legislators - out of nine MLAs and MLCs - participating in it.

Kolar Gold Fields MLA Y. Ramakka and MLC Y.A. Narayanaswamy were the only two legislators who took part in the meeting and gave suggestions for speedy implementation of works under the scheme.

It was suggested that pending works should be completed without delay. It was also directed to submit the action plans for 2015-16 by June-end and all the works taken up should be finished by financial year-end.

Mr. Narayanaswamy took the executive engineers to task for not inspecting the quality of works personally.

The meeting felt it was necessary to construct toilets in Government High Schools and Pre-University Colleges under the grants of the scheme.

Additional D.C. S.R. Peddappaiah participated.
