Deputy Chief Minister R. Ashok on Monday said that the former Chief Minister and Karnataka Janata Paksha leader B.S. Yeddyurappa has no capacity to destabilise the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the State.
Addressing presspersons here, he said several attempts have been made in the past to destabilise the government in the past four years. The BJP was a cadre-based party and it was impossible for an individual to destabilise the government, including Mr. Yeddyurappa, he said. Noting the Shettar government would complete its full term, the Deputy Chief Minister said: “Several leaders had joined the party and left it in the past. Individuals do not matter in the party. The party’s strength depended on the support of lakhs of workers across the State.” Asked whether the BJP would lose its mass base with Mr. Yeddyurappa’s exit, he said: “He will one day rejoin the party.” The KJP will not pose any problems to the BJP in the elections, he said.
